The Refugee Project
A three-hour simulation transforms groups into refugees, escaping for their lives…
Separated into “families” from various countries and transformed by ethnic clothing, groups must memorize their biographies before visiting
- the US Department of State
- a refugee feeding station
- a medical screening clinic
Families must pass interviews at each of these stations in order to “escape to freedom.”
Since June 2002, over 2,500 people and 51 churches, schools, and non-profit organizations have participated in this life-changing experience in Seattle’s International District.
Cost varies with size of your group and includes an ethnic sandwich. A non-refundable deposit of $100 secures a reservation.
